Kristi Lucas is a middle school teacher at Kansas Connections Academy (KCA). She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and Spanish from MidAmerica Nazarene University and a master’s in education from the University of Saint Mary. Ms. Lucas began teaching in 1995 and joined Connections Academy in 2014. She currently teaches language arts at KCA.
When asked why she became a teacher, Ms. Lucas said, “I desired to make a difference in the lives of students by supporting them academically, socially, and emotionally. The benefit of teaching online is that the diagnostic tools available provide more detailed instructional guidance to help individual students succeed.
Students at KCA learn to work independently and cooperatively as they actively learn with their Learning Coaches, teachers, and fellow students. The active role of Learning Coaches creates a unique and cooperative learning experience that proves to be powerful and effective. The quality instruction and support provided for KCA students sets our virtual school apart from the others.”
Aside of teaching, Ms. Lucas’ biggest passion is reading.
