Candice Martin

Middle School Math and Science Teacher

Candice Martin is a middle school math and science teacher at Kansas Connections Academy. She earned bachelor’s degrees in agriculture and education from Kansas State University, and began her teaching career in 2003. Ms. Martin joined Connections education in the fall of 2013.

When asked why she became a teacher, Ms. Martin said, “I wanted to share my love of learning with the future of our country. I love teaching at Kansas Connections Academy because of the great staff and students. I really get to know the families more than I would in a bricks-and-mortar setting. Students at Kansas Connections Academy are prepared for the future because they learn that the key to success has to do with working hard and not luck. The Kansas Connections Academy community is special because we accomplish more when we work together as a group than we do as individuals. To parents considering online schooling, I would say that the role of a parent is very hands-on in a virtual school environment.”

Outside of being a teacher, Ms. Martin lives on a working cattle ranch with many horses that are used for work and play. Both of her children are also active in the sport of rodeo.
