Why I Became a Teacher

I loved being a student so much. In my late 20s, I discovered I’d like to be in education as a profession. It was a great fit for me because there’s never a dull moment and there are endless opportunities for learning in so many areas—and it aligned with my desire and value to help others.

I get to witness students figuring out what brings them joy, discover their strengths, and see them grow as individuals. I also get to support them on their personal and academic journeys and foster their curiosity about various topics or aspects of life and what it has to offer.

The Online School Experience at Kansas Connections Academy

I love working at this school. It’s a tremendously positive work environment where I feel valued and supported. It has been a life changer and healing experience both professionally and personally.

This school community is like no other professional community I’ve experienced. The care, dedication, and support are endless—not only for the students, caretakers, and communities we serve, but also for our collective staff. I am continually surprised by the sense of fellowship and collective encouragement provided by leadership and staff.

I get to witness students figuring out what brings them joy, discover their strengths, and see them grow as individuals.
