Kathy Goree began teaching in 2010 and joined Kansas Connections Academy in 2021. She teaches English Language Arts to students in high school.
Why I Became a Teacher
I became a teacher after I spent time working in a daycare center while going to college. I realized that I loved working with kids and wanted a career in which I could connect with them and build strong relationships. I love teaching English Language Arts because I get to share my love of reading and writing with my students.
The Online School Experience at Kansas Connections Academy
I love working here because of the unique opportunity I’m given to build relationships with my students and their families, even though it’s a virtual classroom setting. I love hearing why kids joined this school and how safe they feel sharing and working with their peers.
As a Kansas Connections Academy teacher, I can devote more of my time during the day to reaching out to individual students, sharing interests and hobbies in clubs, and getting to know their amazing personalities through virtual interactions.

My Personal Interests
I enjoy spending time with my family and two adorable Labrador puppies. I love reading, photography, creative writing, summers in the pool, and traveling.
