Why I Became a Teacher

I became a teacher to help students become creative and compassionate problem-solvers.

I really enjoy how unique all my students are. I love getting to know them and appreciate how they trust us teachers enough to share both their academic journey and some of their lives with us. I’m sure that I learn more from my students every year than they do from me.

The Online School Experience at Kansas Connections Academy

I find that the collaborative and supportive culture of the staff and faculty is reflected in the classroom among students, and in the direct relationships between teachers and students.

Regardless of the degree to which a student is working synchronously or asynchronously, the school’s community is always welcoming and eager to help them succeed. That attitude seems to have become the standard for all interactions, and it is truly a special quality in the school.
