What I love most about GACA is my child’s ability to learn from home—and, of course, the support that is always available from his teachers. I know that he is safe, eating well, and not distracted or bored in class. It has been a win–win situation for us. I will say that initially I was concerned, as most parents would be, that our son might somehow miss the socialization aspect of school because he was learning at home. I have found, however, that this could not be farther from the truth. We are actually more socially involved now than we were when he was in the local bricks-and-mortar school. We take advantage of the many monthly field trips that GACA plans; our son is involved in our church’s youth program and scouting program; and he has more time to spend with neighborhood friends instead of being tied up all night doing homework.
I admit that it was a little scary when we were deciding to enroll our son in an online program. The unknown is usually frightening. But each day has been such an amazing experience. Day after day, my child learns more and more, and I get to be a part of that and watch his immediate excitement about learning something new. How many parents get to experience that? Our children are only young once, and the fact that GACA allows me to be an even bigger part my child’s growth makes every memory that much sweeter.”
