Why I Chose Georgia Connections Academy

“I loved how flexible Connections Academy was. I could work at my own pace, and know if I have a busy weekend coming up, I could work ahead.

Connections Academy helped prepare me for the future by providing me with a stellar education and countless skillsets that I don’t think I would have developed in public school. I was pushed to take charge in my own education and had a lot of responsibility when it came to driving myself to complete lessons. I also learned to manage my time better. I’m confident that Connections Academy has prepared me to have a successful future.

My Online School Experience

I love Connections Academy because I could work on my own and still receive a lot of support from my teachers.

My favorite subjects were Spanish and Literature & Composition. In both classes, I had an instant connection with my teachers and they were always available to help me when I needed it (which was a lot with Spanish!). I also enjoyed being a member of the National English Honor Society. It was really fun to hang out with my classmates and discuss books together and play games.

I live pretty far from the other students, so, one of my most memorable experiences was when my elementary school teacher planned a field trip in my county. She really made learning fun for me so I was super excited to meet her. The field trip was really fun and it allowed me to start viewing Connections Academy as more than just a school.

I had a good relationship with my teachers. As a dual enrollment student, sometimes I wasn't in contact with my teachers because a majority of my classes are through a community college. However, whenever I did need to seek help, my teachers were always there.

I’m confident that Connections Academy has prepared me to have a successful future.

About Me

I’m very passionate about musical theatre. In the past four years I’ve performed in thirteen musicals and was often rehearsing for two shows at once. Through performing, I’ve become friends with some of the coolest people I’ve ever met. It's hard to manage my schedule around the busy lifestyle I’ve created for myself. I have to look far ahead and see what days are going to be the busiest for me. I then try to work ahead on my lessons for the week to make sure I don’t fall behind. After I graduate high school, I plan to attend a conservatory to pursue a B.F.A. in musical theatre.”
