High School Principal

Rob Shaw strongly believes that education creates opportunities that last a lifetime. “Every student deserves to be presented with learning experiences that stimulate their curiosity, thinking, and creativity,” he states. The responsibility of educators is to set students up for success in whatever opportunities life offers.

Teacher, Leader, Innovator

Mr. Shaw spent the first decade of his career as a teacher of high school English language arts in traditional brick-and-mortar environments. He taught all levels of high school students, from grade 9 to grade 12. He taught AP classes. He taught courses in composition and courses in journalism. Occasionally, he even taught history classes.

His next decade was spent as an administrator, initially as an assistant principal, then as principal.

Mr. Shaw made the switch to online education as principal of The Education Cooperative Connections Academy. He recognizes the numerous innovative ways the school can create and deliver learning experiences, and the extraordinary impact educators can have on their students' lives. He jumped at the opportunity.

Baseball … and Soccer

Like many Americans, Mr. Shaw is an avid baseball fan. But also like many Americans, he is developing an increased interest in soccer. The turning point? Watching his daughter’s games over the last few years.
