What I Love About Working With Students
With more than a decade of experience in education, I have dedicated my career to supporting students with diverse learning needs and creating inclusive, student-centered learning environments. My professional background includes serving as an Autism-Specific Special Educator, Behavioral-Health Teacher, High School Principal, Co-Safety Director, Title IX and Civil Rights Coordinator, and Special Education Director. Throughout these roles, I have remained committed to ensuring every student has access to the support and opportunities they need to succeed.
I joined Connections Academy in 2025 because I value the school's commitment to personalized learning and strong partnerships with families. One of the things I enjoy most about online education is the ability to meet students where they are, collaborate closely with parents and caregivers, and tailor supports to help each learner reach their full potential. Watching students gain confidence, overcome challenges, and celebrate their successes is the most rewarding part of my work.
I have also pursued doctoral research focused on strengthening collaboration between schools and families, reflecting my passion for building meaningful relationships that improve student outcomes. I believe that by working together, educators and families can empower students with the skills, confidence, and resilience they need for a bright future.
"My educational philosophy is grounded in the belief that every child deserves a high-quality education that recognizes their unique strengths and needs."
