COLLEGE PREP
Leading Students Toward Higher Education
A college degree gets students ready for a successful future. And, at Washington Connections Academy, we get students ready for college. We offer a range of Honors and Advanced Placement® courses along with plenty of online clubs for students. And we help students build the personal responsibility and love of learning they’ll need to get into—and excel at—whatever college they choose.
Students interested in college prep enjoy plenty of support along the way. Their teachers embrace their goals, and counselors guide them through the college selection and application process. Plus, our online learning environment is similar to what many colleges use, meaning our students are ready to hit the (digital) ground running.
If your child is interested in going to college, they’ll find the right path here.

COLLEGE COURSES & RUNNING START
Start Your College Career Early
Running Start is a program that allows 11th and 12th grade students to take college courses at 1 of Washington's 34 community and technical colleges or at Central Washington University, Eastern Washington University, Northwest Indian College, and Washington State University. These can be in-person classes or online, depending on the college.
Running Start students and their families do not pay tuition for Running Start courses, but they may need to pay college fees and buy their books, as well as provide their own transportation. Students receive both high school and college credit for passing these classes and, therefore, can accelerate their progress by completing specific credit requirements for high school graduation and course requirements for a technical certification or associate’s degree.
