From Indiana to Tennessee and back again, from family therapist to school counselor and now career and technical education assistant principal, Erica Fair knows she’s getting to live life to the fullest: “I am so thankful that my career in education has given me many amazing opportunities.”

Spotlight: Erica Fair, Assistant Principal
Ms. Fair grew up in Southern Indiana, then moved to Tennessee to attend Johnson University. After graduating in 2010, she began her professional career as a family therapist. Several years later, she made the move into education as a school counselor.
For Ms. Fair, the mission is clear: make a positive impact on children and their families, always looking toward the best interests of the student. She notes that many of her favorite memories as a child include the teachers and other educators who helped shape who she is as both a person and professional. In turn, she hopes to be included in the favorite memories of the next generation of students.
Ms. Fair’s husband is also from Indiana. But these Hoosiers fell in love with the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. They chose to settle in the foothills of the Smokies, not far from Dollywood — or “Dolly World,” as her children like to call it.
Ultimately, the Fairs decided to move back to Indiana with daughter Paisley (10) and son Grady (7) to be closer to extended families. Together they love playing and watching baseball; Ms. Fair’s husband coaches at a local high school. The family travels as much as they can and spends plenty of time outdoors with Boone, their golden retriever, and Dolly, their lab.
