Linda Atwood

Elementary School Teacher

Linda Atwood is an elementary school teacher at Washington Connections Academy. She began teaching in 1987 and joined Washington Connections Academy in 2013. She received her master’s degree in special education from the University of Oregon. She shares more about her experience below:

“I became a teacher because I love learning, reading, math, and school! I wanted to be a teacher since elementary school and teach English in China after watching Katherine Hepburn play the headstrong Jade in Dragon Seed.

I love teaching at Washington Connections Academy because of the student interaction in LiveLesson sessions, especially when they share with microphones and webcams. With great Learning Coach assistance, especially at the elementary level, we are able to meet individual students’ needs effectively and just as well as a brick-and-mortar school.

"I love teaching at Washington Connections Academy because of the student interaction."

Washington Connections Academy helps students prepare for a bright future because individual students can excel in academics and pursue sports, music, etc., with our flexible learning environment. Additionally, frequent contacts and review of educational successes/struggles help students learn to become independent lifelong learners.”

When Ms. Atwood isn’t teaching, she enjoys family time, Oregon Duck sports, scrapbooking, reading, and traveling.
