Glenda Nombrano Torres
5th Grade Science & Social Studies Teacher
With an impressive background in education, Mrs. Glenda Nombrano Torres brings both expertise and heart to her role as a 5th Grade Science and Social Studies teacher at Texas Connections Academy. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from Our Lady of the Lake University–San Antonio, then went on to complete a Master’s degree in Guidance and Counseling from the University of Houston–Clear Lake, followed by a Master’s in Educational Administration from Lamar University.
Over the course of her career, Mrs. Torres has served in many capacities—including special education teacher, testing coordinator, and school counselor—all of which contribute to her holistic approach to education.
For her, the most rewarding part of teaching at Texas Connections Academy is supporting the whole child: “from academic growth to fostering self-esteem by providing a safe space for asking questions, discovering their own potential, and taking risks while exploring their knowledge.”
Her advice to students is simple yet powerful: “Never be afraid to ask questions or try something new. Learning is a journey, and you are capable of learning anything and everything.”
Outside the classroom, Mrs. Torres enjoys crafting, shopping, trips to the beach, and cheering on college football. She and her husband are proud parents of two children—one a graduate of the University of Texas Medical Branch–Galveston and the other a graduate of Texas A&M University.
Her blend of knowledge, encouragement, and passion makes Mrs. Torres a valued part of our Texas Connections Academy family.
