Graduates from Texas Connections Academy, a full-time, tuition-free online public school for students in grades 3–12, celebrated their achievements in front of family and friends at the NRG Stadium in Houston on Friday, June 6, 2025. The Class of 2025 had 1,020 graduates from across the state and collectively earned nearly $4.3 million in scholarships and awards.

The ceremony featured remarks from Texas Connections Academy executive director, Darla Gardner, salutatorian Ashley Toy, and Daniel Girard, Houston Independent School District’s Deputy Chief of Schools.
“The Class of 2025 has worked incredibly hard to reach this important milestone,” Gardner said. “It is because of their determination, the support of their families, and the dedicated teachers and counselors at Texas Connections Academy that they are crossing the finish line. This year's graduating class has a very bright future, and I look forward to seeing all they will achieve.”
What’s Next for Texas Connections Academy High School Graduates?
Among the graduating class, 57 percent plan to attend 2- or 4-year colleges or universities, including Austin College, Baylor University, Fordham University, Texas A&M University, and the University of Notre Dame. Additionally, 14 percent plan to enter the workforce and others plan to pursue vocational training, join the military, or take a gap year.

Texas Connections Academy is a full-time, tuition-free, online public school for 3–12 students. Part of the Houston Independent School District, Texas Connections Academy is state certified and open to students located throughout Texas, including Austin, Dallas, El Paso, Laredo, Amarillo, Fort Worth, and beyond. The 2025–2026 academic year will mark another year of its College & Career Readiness program for middle and high school students. This offering integrates traditional academic subjects with industry-leading, career-focused options like IT, business, health sciences, and marketing and equips students with durable skills like leadership, critical thinking, and teamwork. Students can participate in career exploration and industry networking opportunities to build confidence, make connections, and find direction to prepare for their future.
