Pearson Virtual Schools USA is in partnership with HISD to provide Texas Connections Academy  as an External Performance Contract Campus. Connections Academy schools are supported by Connections Education LLC, dba Pearson Virtual Schools, which is accredited by Cognia.

How Much Does Texas Connections Academy Elementary School Cost?

Texas Connections Academy is 100 percent tuition free! Like other public schools, Texas Connections Academy is fully funded by the state, allowing us to provide a high-quality learning experience aligned with Texas educational standards at no cost to families. 

There are no hidden fees—just like at traditional brick-and-mortar schools, families are only responsible for school supplies, optional in-person field trips, computers, and internet.

How Does Our Online Elementary School Work?

Students spend 30 hours per week learning and growing.

  • 30% of each school day is spent exploring lessons online 
  • 70% of each school day is spent working independently offline or with a Learning Coach 

Elementary school students complete a mix of independent work in our dedicated online learning portal and regularly scheduled LiveLesson® sessions with peers and their elementary school teachers. 

They also spend valuable quality time with their Learning Coach, typically filled by a parent or caregiver who supports their learning throughout the school day. 

Through this approach, students can learn where and when work best for them—while benefiting from a strong circle of support that includes their peers, families, and talented educators.   

Our Online Curriculum for Grades 3–5

Created by experts in online learning, our elementary curriculum helps challenge and inspire students in grades 3–5 . 

From language arts and mathematics to technology and health, your student will gain a solid educational foundation and explore their newfound interests through courses like sign language, Spanish, and music. 

We also offer gifted and talented courses, built to inspire a lifelong love for learning and to help students reach their highest potential.
