Earn Your High School Diploma in Texas

Preparing Online School Students for Graduation in Texas

Texas Connections Academy works closely with families to ensure that students understand graduation requirements in Texas and have the support they need to fulfill those requirements. Our comprehensive high school curriculum is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in the classroom—long after graduation.

Students who attend online school and meet Texas graduation requirements receive the same diploma as their peers who attend brick-and-mortar public schools in the state.

Personalized Learning

How Many Credits Do You Need to Graduate High School in Texas?

Students must successfully earn a minimum of 26 credits to graduate and also pass state tests. Be sure to check your school handbook for updates. The course credits required to graduate are included below.

Texas Connections Academy High School Credit Requirements

  • Language arts: 4 credits
  • Math: 4 credits (including Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2)
  • Science: 4 credits (including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics)
  • Social studies: 4 credits (including World Geography, World History, U.S. History, and Government/Economics)
  • Fine Art: 1 credit
  • Health: 0.5 credit
  • Physical education: 1 credit
  • World Language: 2 credits
  • Additional required electives: 5.5 credits

Additional Graduation Requirements

  • College, Career, Military Readiness Indicator Achieved
  • Completions of CPR training.
  • FAFSA completion and Peace Officer Interaction completion. 

*All are required by the State of Texas for Public Schools.
