As one of the top 30 online high schools in the country,* we offer a range of honors and Advanced Placement®** courses along with plenty of online clubs for students. And we help students build the personal responsibility and love of learning they’ll need to get into—and excel at—whatever college they choose.

Students interested in college prep enjoy plenty of support along the way. Their teachers embrace their goals, and counselors guide them through the college selection and application process. Plus, our online learning environment is similar to what many colleges use, meaning our students are ready to hit the (digital) ground running. At Texas Connections Academy, students can also take advantage of dual-credit opportunities with five community colleges across the state of Texas.

Dual Credit Program
 

Preparing Texas Connections Academy High School Students for College

Texas Connections Academy students in grades 9-12 may be eligible to earn college credits through our dual credit program in partnership with Austin Community College, Collin College, Houston Community College, Lamar Institute of Technology, Lone Star College, San Jacinto College, South Texas College, or the University of Texas-San Antonio. Students may take up to two dual credit courses per semester at a reduced tuition rate through our providers. Here is what you need to know to get started:

  • Ninth through twelfth-grade students must be enrolled in Texas Connections Academy for at least one semester prior to qualifying for dual credit courses.
  • Qualifying college entrance exam scores are required to take dual credit courses.
  • College courses can be taken virtually or face-to-face through one of our providers.
  • Contact your school counselor for more details on how to sign up for dual credit.
