Dorothy Webb is an elementary school science and social studies teacher at Texas Connections Academy @ Houston (TCAH). She has been teaching since 1985 and began at TCAH in 2010. She holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Graceland University. Ms. Webb shares more of her story below.
“I became a teacher because I wanted to work with children, and I love to help them learn. I love teaching at TCAH because I get to interact with my students on an individual basis as well as in groups. Not only do I love teaching the students, but I love being there to help and guide each student and their Learning Coaches.
One of the benefits of teaching online is that the information is literally at your fingertips 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Another benefit is the use of Livelesson® sessions—this is a great time that online teachers get to spend with their students, teaching them in a fun, interactive virtual classroom.
I would tell parents considering TCAH that we offer a great deal of flexibility along with a quality education from highly qualified, certified teachers who truly care about their students. Our school is a wonderful program for those who can devote the time and support to their student. It can be so rewarding to be closely involved in your student’s education.”
