3 min to readEvery child in California deserves a great education. For many, that might be in a traditional, brick-and-mortar public or private school. However, you might be wondering if your child might be better suited for an online school. In California, there are two Connections Academy online public schools: Connections Academy at Springs and Connections Academy at Gateway.
Both California Connections Academy schools are tuition-free and state-certified, with a curriculum specifically designed for online learning.
Connections Academy at Springs serves grades K–11 and is open to students who reside in San Bernardino, Inyo, Kern, Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Diego, and Imperial counties..
Connections Academy at Gateway serves grades K–10 and is open to students who reside in Yolo, Amador, Placer, Solano, Sutter, El Dorado, Sacramento, San Joaquin, and Contra Costa Counties.

Connections Academy at Springs is available to California students, as long as they reside in San Bernardino County, Inyo County, Kern County, Los Angeles County, Orange County, Riverside County, San Diego County, and Imperial County.
Connections Academy at Gateway is available to California students, as long as they reside in Yolo County, Amador County, Placer County, Solano County, Sutter County, El Dorado County, Sacramento County, San Joaquin County, and Contra Costa County.
Both California Connections Academy at Spring and Connections Academy at Gateway schools are available to eligible students who meet all enrollment criteria, including age and immunization requirements as well as having access to a reliable internet connection in a safe learning environment.
As online public schools, Connections Academy at Springs and Connections Academy at Gateway are tuition-free, including textbooks and the curriculum. Families are responsible for the costs of school supplies and in-person field trips. A family may receive a computer, as well as qualify for a hardship subsidy for internet access if eligible.
Students enrolled in either California Connections Academy school enjoy the flexibility to learn at their own pace, experience more individualized attention from teachers, and have freedom from the distractions present in brick-and-mortar schools. Parents and caregivers also appreciate the ability to be more involved in their children’s education.
