Thanks to Oregon Connections Academy, Anastasia Valdes has been working on her college degree and career for a while. According to Anastasia’s mom, “Her teachers worked with her to allow her time to attend the local community college last fall for phlebotomy and medical assisting training. I am excited to see her eager to get her national certification so she can start her career.” 

After Anastasia becomes a certified clinical medical assistant, she plans to get certified as a paramedic. Her mom is glad her daughter was successful in her academics and interests outside school. “She’s been able to spend time in the community learning about different careers and the importance of volunteering.”
