GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

All students are supported and counseled throughout their time at Oregon Connections Academy so that every student finds success after graduation.

Preparing Online School Students for Graduation

Connections Academy provides in-depth support to ensure that online school students understand their graduation requirements and are well prepared for life beyond high school.

HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

Students must successfully earn a minimum of 24 credits to graduate. Be sure to check your school handbook for updates. The course credits required to graduate include:

  • Language Arts: 4 credits
  • Mathematics: 3 credits (Algebra 1 or above)
  • Science: 3 credits (including Life Science, Physical Science, and an Advanced Science. A minimum of 2 science credits must be designated lab science courses)
  • Social Studies: 3 credits (including U.S. History and Government. 0.5 Civics Requirement*
    *This graduation requirement begins with the graduating class of 2026. Students who will graduate in 2023, 2024, and 2025 are not required to complete a Civics course to earn a diploma; however, doing so is highly recommended.)
  • Health: 1 credit
  • Physical Education: 1 credit
  • Second Language, The Arts, Career & Technical Education: 3 credits
  • Electives: 6 credits
