Why I Became a Teacher

I began college as a civil engineering major. However, I found I really enjoyed helping others understand text material and decided I wanted to teach. I began my teaching career as a middle school teacher and have taught all grade levels, from elementary to high school and adults.

The Benefits of K‒12 Online Learning

Teaching online affords me the best opportunity to work with students and Learning Coaches in ways beyond the scope of a brick-and-mortar classroom. The rigor of our curriculum supports student achievement and prepares students to live, work, and learn in the larger world and a global economy.

My Advice for New Families

Be sure you are committed to your role as a Learning Coach. Successful work in our program requires the student, teacher, and Learning Coach to work collaboratively to support the student. Your child will have opportunities far beyond what can be offered in traditional schools.

Working to know students as individuals helps increase engagement, as well as making our time together more enjoyable.

My Interests

I love to garden, collect rocks, and spend time with family and pets. I enjoy music and time in the wilderness to help inspire me.
