Bachelor's Degree, Special Education, Western Governors University; Master's Degree, School Leadership, Management, and Administration, University of Central Arkansas

Sarah Greenbank began her career as an educator in 2019 at Arkansas Connections Academy. As Director of Student Success, she helps students in every grade achieve their best. Reports Ms. Greenbank, “I get to know the entire family and that helps me get to know my students and how to best serve them.”

Why I Became an Educator

Says Ms. Greenbank, “I have loved school my whole life and have always wanted to be a teacher. I took a long road to get into education, though. Before I was teaching, I started working with individuals with developmental disabilities. This led me back to my first love, the classroom.

“I was a special education paraprofessional for five years before going back to school and getting my teaching license. I served as a special education teacher at Arkansas Connections Academy for five years. Two of those years I was also a Department Head for Special Populations. As Director of Student Success, I’m excited about making a difference for all students.

“What I love most about this school is the culture. We have a culture of teamwork. We build each other up and support each other. I love how we all collaborate to serve our students together.”

The Online School Experience at Arkansas Connections Academy

“Teaching at an online school, I’ve had the opportunity to develop better relationships with my students and their families than ever before,” says Ms. Greenbank. “I’m working with students and families right in their own homes, virtually.

“Our school community is special because of the closeness we have. Teachers get to know their students and families on a level that is rarely achieved in a brick-and-mortar setting. We get so excited to see our families on field trips!

“Being a virtual student takes responsibility, organization, and self-determination. These skills, paired with this school’s rigorous curriculum and the support of caring teachers, prepare students for their future careers and successful lives.”

If your student is not having success in the traditional classroom, come to Arkansas Connections Academy and watch them thrive.

My Personal Interests

According to Ms. Greenbank, “I’ve been married 13 years and have an 11-year-old son. We have three kooky dogs who keep us all on our toes. We are a family of readers and enjoy discussing our favorite books. I’m always up for a good mystery! I love to crochet and make gifts for my friends and family.”
