Jessica Peresta
Director of Student Success
Jessica Peresta is the Director of Student Success at Arkansas Connections Academy and brings a deep passion for education and student connection to her role. She is dedicated to supporting students academically while helping them stay motivated and engaged throughout their learning experience.
Why I Chose Education
I started my career in education in 2004. I began college as a piano performance major, but about a year in, I decided to switch to music education because I had worked with kids in a variety of ways and could not see myself being anything other than a teacher. I became a teacher because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of kiddos, even if it was just a small one. Being able to help mold the minds of students and encourage them to be whatever they want in the world, no matter what they are facing in their personal lives, is what drove me into the field of education.
As Director of Student Success, I love getting to connect with the students I work with. Being able to form relationships with them and help keep them motivated truly lights me up. I also love the team I work with, both administrators and teachers. Everyone is so positive and passionate about what they do, and it is a breath of fresh air.
The Online School Experience at Arkansas Connections Academy
One of the biggest benefits of teaching at an online school is the flexibility. I am able to set my daily schedule in a way that makes sense for me, which allows for more intentional time with students and colleagues. I also have more time to track student data and identify which students I need to connect with on a given day. Not needing to commute to work each day is an added bonus.
Preparing Students for the Future
In today’s world, it is amazing that students have the opportunity to learn online. Many jobs are now remote, and learning in an online environment helps prepare students for virtual college programs or remote work opportunities.
" At Arkansas Connections Academy, students receive a quality education from certified teachers who are passionate about reaching their students. They are able to ask questions, work at a pace that fits their schedule, and receive strong instructional support.

Some Personal Interests
Outside of work, I am a wife and a mom to three boys, as well as a dog mom to two doodles. We stay busy with baseball and basketball, with two boys playing both sports. I also play piano on my church’s worship team, and on a slow day, you can find me reading a book in my hammock.
