Why I Became an Educator

Growing up, I would bring home extra worksheets so that I could play school at home. This love for teaching others continued into high school when I found myself enjoying tutoring my peers in math class. During college, I had an inspiring professor that gave me a love for math, and now I enjoy sharing that same love for math to help students succeed. My favorite thing about math is that there is always more than one way to think about a problem, which shapes all of us to become world problem solvers.

Preparing Students for the Future

Arkansas Connections Academy allows students to be independent, flexible thinkers. These skills are vital in the world today. Students will enter the workforce understanding how to prioritize and organize what is asked of them. The school community allows every student to find their niche and expands their worldview on the different perspectives and cultures that exist outside of their immediate community.

"Students can come as they are and do not have to worry about the social norms that are placed on them in a brick-and-mortar school. "

Beyond the Virtual Classroom

I am a mother to three amazing individuals that fill my free time with a number of fun adventures. We enjoy playing board games and watching college football. During the summer, we can be found fishing in a local river or lake, exploring museums, relaxing by a lake, hanging out with neighbors, or planning our next cruise.
