Why I Became a Teacher

When I began working, I still wanted to be available to my own children and have the same schedule. Becoming a teacher made perfect sense, and it had always been a career I was interested in. I was valedictorian of my high school class and graduated summa cum laude from college. I believed teaching would be a fulfilling career that would provide the opportunity to help others find a love of learning. Becoming a teacher was a great decision that I haven’t regretted.

The Benefits of K‒12 Online Learning

I believe online education is the direction of the future. I’m able to build better relationships with my students in the virtual setting at Arkansas Connections Academy than I was in a brick-and-mortar school. When I talk to my students now, we have in-depth conversations.

The Online School Experience at Arkansas Connections Academy

Teaching at Arkansas Connections Academy also allows for more flexibility. Since there are no Live Lesson® sessions for physical education, I encourage students to attend the many field trips Arkansas Connections Academy offers. These are great fun and the perfect place to meet classmates.

We want all of our students to be successful, and we try in every way to make that happen.

Some Personal Interests

I live near a lake and enjoy fishing, kayaking, and paddleboarding. I also enjoy hiking and sightseeing all around the state of Arkansas. When it’s cold outside, my favorite thing to do is curl up with a good book.
