SOCIALIZATION
Life is not just about academics. Students socialize with other incredible students through online clubs, in-person activities, and field trips that connect peers and turn classmates into friends.

OVERVIEW
Bringing Students Together
Connecting with other students at school and in the local community is a big part of what makes Oregon's Willamette Connections Academy so enriching. Children from all over the state will love all the opportunities they have to make new friends and explore their passions.
In addition to meeting with their fellow students in LiveLesson® sessions and collaborating with them on school projects, your child can join many other activities. Our virtual clubs for students give your child the chance to meet up with students with similar interests. When available, in-person field trip bring students together for great learning experiences. And the more flexible schedule gives your child time to play sports, pursue art, volunteer or do anything else they enjoy in their community.

Online School Socialization Opportunities
When considering online school, many parents have questions about socialization and how it works. At Connections Academy, social opportunities are a key part of the learning experience. Connecting with other students at school and in the local community is a big part of what makes Connections Academy so enriching.
FIELD TRIPS
Exploring the World Together
Each month, Willamette Connections Academy teachers host both in-person and virtual field trips. We try our best to plan activities around the state to make sure everyone can participate in in-person events, but our robust calendar of online events ensures that students have ample opportunity to socialize with their peers. Past activities have included college tours, museum visits, park playdates, and more!
CLUBS & ACTIVITIES
Doing What Excites Them Most
What does your child love? Computer coding? Writing poetry? Playing chess? Maybe they want to try their hand at journalism. Or take part in a scientific experiment. Whatever their passion—whatever new interest they want to explore—they’ll likely find an online club that feels made for them. Through our clubs, your child can build on the skills they’re learning in class while making new friends and gaining social confidence. Our clubs even offer opportunities to compete in contests at local, state and national levels. Clubs are a wonderful way for your child to learn, grow and enjoy school even more.

GRADUATION
Celebrating With Families
High school graduation is a big deal. And, at Willamette Connections Academy, we give it all the pomp and circumstance it deserves.
When your child graduates from our online high school in Willamette, they’ll gather with you and the rest of your family for a graduation ceremony. Caps and gowns and diplomas are all part of the day, giving your child the recognition they’ve earned before they move on to their next adventure, prepared to take on the world.
