Rozanna Eckstein
Graduate’s Learning Coach
Rozanna Eckstein is the mother of Hailey Eckstein, a Willamette Connections Academy graduate. Rozanna was Hailey’s Learning Coach while she was a student at Connections Academy. The Eckstein's enrolled Hailey in Connections Academy when she was in Kindergarten because they wanted her to experience public school, but wanted to be more involved in her education than what a traditional brick-and-mortar school would allow. She shares her family’s story below:
“We wanted to give our child the best educational opportunity that met both of our needs. We wanted to be involved in her education, but also wanted to provide her with the benefits of a traditional public school, so we chose Willamette Connections Academy. We had no idea how well this program would benefit our child and family.
“What I loved about Willamette Connections Academy is that I didn’t have to come up with my own curriculum like I would have in a traditional homeschool situation. She could get help from actual teachers who are trained in the subjects she was learning.”

We enrolled Hailey in Kindergarten after researching many different school options. Hailey chose to continue her academic career with Connections Academy after that because she was able to focus and found that this program worked well for her. Especially, since she struggled with dyslexia and anxiety. She loves all the helpful teachers and staff that have helped her along her journey. Also being able to get a great education at her pace with help from her family.
Willamette Connections Academy helped prepare her for college tremendously. Hailey was able to manage her time and be an independent person without the push from her teachers or future professors. It has also helped with knowing how an online platform works in college.

If your child is super independent and self-reliant then this program will work great for them. If you as a parent or Learning Coach feel that you can offer them the help and guidance they need, then this program will work for you. Online school isn’t for every student or family, but it works for us and we are so thankful.”
