Why I Became an Educator

I always knew I wanted to be a teacher from an early age. My mother was a teacher, so I spent a lot of time surrounded by teachers and in school buildings. I loved learning and thrived because of the connections that I had with my teachers. I was inspired by teachers’ ability to foster passion in young people so, for me, I never considered pursuing anything other than a career in education.

The Online Experience at Oregon Connections Academy

Oregon Connections Academy has an amazing population of hard working and dedicated students, and I feel honored to work with them each day. They are willing and eager to learn. As a new school, we are always evolving and looking to make improvements, and we are open to hearing from parents, teachers, and students. The feedback is vital to our success. Oregon Connections Academy helps to prepare students for a bright future by being focused on college and career readiness. No matter what path is chosen after high school, we can help students understand and work toward the goals needed to have a successful future.

Message for Prospective Families Choosing Online School

I believe that in our online setting we can form a deeper connection with our students. By removing the boundaries of a classroom, we are accepted into the student’s home, which can help them feel more comfortable sharing their authentic selves with us. In addition to that, when calling and creating relationships with students, we are also engaging with their family members."
