Lisa Sill

Middle and Secondary Teacher

Master’s degree in instructional and curricular studies from the University of Nevada,

Ms. Sill began her teaching career in 1999 and has more than a decade of teaching experience. She shares her story below.

My Teaching Background

"I earned my first degree in psychology and was working with pregnant teenagers. I really liked that age group and enjoyed our interactions; I had a great rapport with the kids. I decided to go back to school and become a teacher. At Nevada Connections Academy, I now teach grades 7–12 psychology and science.

A benefit to teaching at an online school is that I feel as though we get to know our students better because there is more individualized interaction. I love the fact that we have field trips and events where we can meet our students in person while providing individual instruction and helping them become successful learners at the same time."
