Tory Holloway
5th Grade Teacher
Mrs. Holloway is a dedicated fifth-grade teacher who brings warmth, enthusiasm, and a true love of learning to the Missouri Connections Academy community. She is known for celebrating those unforgettable “lightbulb moments” when students suddenly grasp a new idea—moments that continue to inspire her year after year.
Her Teaching Journey
Mrs. Holloway began her teaching career in 2017, working as an English as a Second Language instructor for students in China. This early experience sparked her passion for virtual education, and she has been teaching online ever since. Before joining Missouri Connections Academy this year, she spent 2020–2025 as a teacher with a virtual academy in Iowa, where she developed a deep appreciation for the flexibility and creativity that online learning offers.
Educational Philosophy
She strongly believes that education is powerful, meaningful, and full of possibility, especially in the virtual setting.
Mrs. Holloway embraces the creative freedom that virtual teaching provides and appreciates the unique relationships formed when educators and students share glimpses of home life through the screen. She values the personalization, flexibility, and connection that online learning makes possible.
“Education matters because it gives every student the chance to grow into who they want to become. In the virtual environment, learning is versatile—students can pursue a wide range of interests and explore their passions while building confidence right from home.”

A Supportive School Community
At Missouri Connections Academy, she feels grateful to work alongside a highly supportive administration and a team of educators who consistently prioritize students and their families. Mrs. Holloway appreciates being part of a school community that loves its students, honors their individuality, and encourages innovative approaches to teaching that go beyond what is possible in a traditional classroom.
Life Beyond the Classroom
Outside of teaching, Mrs. Holloway enjoys cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs, reading, lifting weights, going for walks, and spending time with her husband and children on their family farm. Her home life brings her joy, balance, and inspiration that she carries into her classroom each day.
Looking Ahead
Mrs. Holloway is excited to continue fostering curiosity, confidence, and a love of learning in her students. She looks forward to another year filled with growth, creativity, and plenty of bright “lightbulb” moments.
