Missouri Connections Academy Celebrates the Graduating Class of 2026
More than 470 graduates from across the state recognized for reaching academic milestone
COLUMBIA, Mo. – June 1, 2026 —More than 470 Missouri Connections Academy seniors were recently awarded their high school diplomas as members of the statewide virtual program’s 2026 graduating class. Friends and families from across the state gathered for the annual in-person commencement ceremony held at the University of Central Missouri.
“We are proud of all our graduates and celebrate this important milestone as they move on to further success in academic studies, in military service, or in the workforce,” said Missouri Connections Academy school leader Lynsie Hunt. “Commencement day is always special as it brings together our students and their families in-person along with faculty and staff to celebrate together.”
During the commencement ceremony, senior speaker Tylie “C-Ann” Smith of Republic addressed her fellow classmates with encouraging remarks, advice and well-wishes as they embark on their next chapter.
What’s Next for Missouri Connections Academy High School Graduates?
Missouri Connections Academy's Class of 2026 consists of graduates from cities and towns across the state who have benefited from a high-quality online education. Among this year’s graduates, 29% plan to attend two-or four-year colleges or universities, such as Grand Canyon University, Johnson & Wales University, St. Louis Community College and the University of Missouri. Additionally, 28% plan to enter the workforce, 17% plan to receive vocational training, and others plan to serve in the military or take a gap year.
Missouri Connections Academy serves approximately 3,700 students in grades K-12 across the state, offering a comprehensive virtual school experience that keeps students motivated and engaged with a strong circle of support and a deep sense of belonging. The school's team of supportive and experienced educators, specially trained in online instruction, establish meaningful connections with students, helping them achieve their full potential and reach their goals. Parents and caregivers are involved in the learning journey as their child's Learning Coach, serving as their mentor and guide throughout the school day.
Missouri Connections Academy continues to prepare students for their futures with its successful College and Career Readiness program. Available to middle and high school students, the program blends core academic coursework with industry aligned, career-focused pathways, including IT, business, health sciences, and marketing. Students also build durable skills such as leadership, critical thinking, and teamwork, while gaining access to career exploration and industry networking opportunities that help them build confidence, make connections, and clarify their future goals.
