My Teaching Background

I always loved being around kids. In my first year of college, I provided childcare for a family who had a child with a disability. Getting to know them and hear about the struggles that their child had at school inspired me to become a special education teacher.

One of my favorite things about being a special education teacher is that I get to be a part of a group of professionals that are willing to do anything to help our students. We get to be advocates for them and teach them how to do that for themselves as they grow and develop.

The Online School Experience at Falcon View Connections Academy

At Falcon View Connections Academy, students learn to be independent and manage their time in order to complete assignments and projects. They also develop good communication skills with adults and peers, and they gain confidence in taking on the responsibility of their academic career.

Falcon View Connections Academy’s teachers have high expectations for their students and are able to support them by providing extra help as needed. The teachers really care about their students' success and want them to do well. They meet with students one-on-one when needed and have the flexibility to adjust the daily schedule if needed.

One of my favorite things about being a special education teacher is that I get to be a part of a group of professionals that are willing to do anything to help our students.
