Melody Kurtti
Secondary Teacher
Melody Kurtti is a secondary social studies teacher at Falcon View Connections Academy. Ms. Kurtti began her teaching career in 2005 and joined Connection Academy ® in 2013. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social studies/history education from Winona State University and is working on her master’s of education in teaching and learning. Ms. Kurtti shares her story below:
“I love learning about the past, humans, geography, and all things social studies. I want to help pass that love on to future generations,” she says.
Ms. Kurtti believes that the flexibility provided by Falcon View Connections Academy, as well as the staff, are what makes the school community special. “This is a great school with an awesome staff. The teachers are always willing to help students, but students will need to have the motivation to complete their lessons on their own as there is not a teacher standing next to them every day like at a brick-and-mortar school. We all teach the same students so we can help/work with each other to reach the students’ needs.”
In her spare time, Ms. Kurtti enjoys traveling as well as several outdoor activities, including fishing and boating. She also loves watching movies and sporting events.
At Falcon View Connections Academy, students can move at their own pace. It helps them become more independent.
