Alissa is a Learning Coach for her three children, who are students at Falcon View Connections Academy. She loves the scheduling flexibility that online school provides for her family.
Our Online School Experience
I enjoy the fact that students can work at their own pace with assignments. It allows more flexibility for doctor appointments, etc. My children can go to an appointment in the morning and still be able to complete their schoolwork for the day once they get home.
I’m not their teacher; instead, I maintain the role of the enforcer-motivator. I connect with their teachers through email whenever I feel there are issues or if there’s something that needs to be addressed. I try to hold my students accountable for their work by checking their daily progress in all their subjects.
My daughter dreams of becoming an engineer one day. Falcon View Connections Academy helps her prepare by teaching her time management and how to keep track of her schedule.

About Our Family
Outside of school, my children are active in our local sports programs, including volleyball, basketball, baseball, cross-country, and track.
