Michele Giles

Ms. Giles is a secondary school teacher at Minnesota Connections Academy (MNCA). She started her teaching career in 2007 and joined MNCA in 2008. Ms. Giles holds a master’s degree in education from Saint Mary’s University. She shares her story below.

“I became a teacher because I love working with students and spreading the joy of learning science. As a teacher in an online environment, I feel as though I have the opportunity to create more meaningful relationships with my students and their families through regularly scheduled contact. Due to these meaningful conversations, I am better equipped to provide differentiated instruction and make the necessary modifications and suggestions so students can maximize their strengths and work on their weaknesses.

Teaching at MNCA has allowed me to see a whole new dimension of education, and I am very grateful. I would tell a prospective family that in online education, teachers get to know your child and can individualize the curriculum to meet his or her needs.”
