Competitive dance is incredibly demanding. In addition to the physical challenges and beyond the creative pressures, Katelyn had to manage an almost impossibly full schedule — while handling all the academic responsibilities of high school.
Participating in competitive dance requires as much time and dedication as playing sports at the highest level. Like any top athlete, Katelyn Ezell had to spend hours a day training, traveling constantly, and attending to the inevitable bumps and bruises. Also as an artist, she had to devote time and energy to creative exploration.
And still find time to go to high school.
“My older sister graduated from Connections Academy® and highly recommended that school to me,” Katelyn explains. “And here I am! A Lighthouse Connections Academy graduating senior!”
Connections Academy gave Katelyn the flexibility to manage the requirements of school and dance. As importantly, it also provided her with “more free time to figure out [her] future.”
And what is that future? “Skincare and personal health have always been very important to me,” she says. Katelyn’s professional plans are to become a licensed aesthetician.
