Block Scheduling

Our flexible quarter schedule allows students to take a reduced number of courses over nine-week periods to give students the quality learning time they need to master the skills and standards of their grade level.  

  • Traditional Middle School: Students will have a mix of semester long and quarter long courses and will need to complete a minimum of 14 courses per year, as aligned to MDE requirements. Core courses, such as math and language arts, will be taken throughout the year. Science, social sciences, and electives courses will be taken on a quarter schedule.
  • Traditional or Alternative High School: Students will take three courses every nine weeks, for a minimum of 12 courses per year, as aligned to MDE requirements.
