High School Teacher

Ms. Atilano is an elementary teacher at California Connections Academy. She began her teaching career in 1991 and has been teaching at Connections Academy since 2012. She received her bachelor of arts degree in liberal studies, with a concentration in child development, and her multiple subject teaching credential from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

When asked why he decided to go into education, Mr. Jaimes said, “When I was in high school, I took Spanish with a very dedicated teacher. This teacher had decided to change from teaching college to teaching high school because he believed that college students did not put enough dedication into their Spanish courses. He was very inspiring to me because he always pushed his students to achieve higher. He is the reason that I chose to attend a university right after high school, as opposed to going through a community college first as most of my friends did. Because of my interaction with that awesome teacher, I realized that it’s about more than simply teaching students the subjects., As teachers, we also have the power to make a positive change in students’ lives and to inspire them to succeed.”
