As an advocate of alternative schooling, Marla truly understands the value of California Connections Academy’s exceptional curriculum, nurturing teachers, and flexibility. She chose to enroll her two children at Connections Academy when they were both in kindergarten. Now that Brooke is in middle school, Marla looks forward to both her children's continued progress. Marla tells her story below.
“Our experience to date with California Connections Academy has been great! Our daughter Brooke has blossomed under the curriculum and has enjoyed the nurturing that only an alternative school can provide. California Connections Academy has provided the coursework in a timely, patient, and professional manner. We enjoy being able to move forward at our own pace and the flexibility that it affords us. A typical school day for Brookeand Ian starts about 8:00 in the morning with breakfast. Then we head into our classroom. We always begin with today’s date and weather. Then we have news time. This gives the children the opportunity to talk about something they learned the previous day. I always encourage them to use complete sentences. On Friday Ian and Brooke have show and tell instead of news time. After this, they start on their assigned lessons.”
