Why I Became a Teacher

When I was young, I was told in school that I learned things backwards, and hearing that was hard at times. Thanks to my parents, I kept studying and made good grades. When I got older, I realized that I just learned differently than other people. I’m a kinesthetic learner, and not the type of person that can listen to a lecture and learn. This inspired me to be a teacher. I want to help students figure out how to best learn so they don’t struggle with school the way I did.

I love to teach what I learned to someone else and watch them get excited about it. When they get that aha moment, the moment the light turns on and they understand, that’s the best part for me as a teacher.

The Online School Experience at Arkansas Connections Academy

Arkansas Connections Academy prepares students for a challenging curriculum in college as well as technical schools. Students will gain a rich experience in planning their days and practicing time management skills, which will help them succeed in the future.

Arkansas Connections Academy provides your child with a rigorous curriculum as well as a tremendous amount of support.

I love being able to personalize the learning experience for each student.

Some Personal Interests

I love spending time with my husband and baby boy. I enjoy being outdoors hiking, kayaking, camping, swimming at the beach, and playing ball. My husband coaches baseball and I gives softball lessons, so we pretty much live at the ball fields.
