Why I Became a Teacher

I was very good at math in high school, so I knew I’d probably do something involving math. My dad introduced me to a program at the University of Arkansas that would provide me with a minor in secondary education, which he thought would be a good fit. I decided to try the teaching program, and I really liked it the first time I taught at a school, so I kept going.

The Online School Experience at Arkansas Connections Academy

I enjoy teaching students who are committed to learning at home, which requires them to take the initiative for their own progress. Taking the responsibility to learn will enable students to be diligent in taking bigger responsibilities as they grow older. They’re participating in online education, which is becoming more prevalent in the world.

Even though we’re far apart, the school community is still able to help each other with many aspects of learning. We bring different cultures together, while at a brick-and-mortar school, there tends to be people from the same area. Arkansas Connections Academy is consistent and allows the students to learn and progress in life without any disruptions.

My Interests

Some of the things I do for fun include cooking, listening to books, and watching basketball. I prefer to listen to books rather than read them because I’m an auditory learner. I played basketball for 13 years, and my favorite team is the Boston Celtics.

Arkansas Connections Academy is consistent and allows the students to learn and progress in life without any disruptions.
