Dyslexia Intervention Program Report
Act 1039 of 2017 Reporting By the School District (Ark. Code Ann. § 6-41-606 (b))
During the 2022-2023 school year, Arkansas Connections Academy used the evidenced-based Phonics First and Structures Programs in small group intervention to address the deficit areas of students identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.
Number of Students Who Received Dyslexia Intervention
During the 2022-2023 school year, 104 students attending Arkansas Connections Academy received dyslexia intervention services from a trained dyslexia interventionist.
Total Number of Students Identified as Exhibiting the Characteristics of Dyslexia
During the 2022-2023 school year, 125 students attending Arkansas Connections Academy were identified as exhibiting the characteristics of dyslexia.
Health and Safety Plan and Use of ARP Funds
The American Rescue Plan (ARP) Act requires each local education agency (LEA) that receives funding under the ARP Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) Fund to develop and make publicly available on the LEA’s website a Safe Return to In-Person Instruction and Continuity of Services Plan, hereinafter referred to as a Health and Safety Plan. This plan was reviewed and approved at the July 20, 2021 Board Meeting. In addition, LEAs must post their Use of Funds plan for ARP funds.
