High school student Isaac Jalonen is in his first full year at Pacific Northwest Connections Academy (PNWCA) after discovering Connections Academy® through summer school courses. “My favorite part of Connections Academy is that it allows me to do school in an environment free from negative social influences,” he explains.
Isaac’s teachers praise him for being constantly engaged, willing to discuss materials, and helping his classmates in small group settings. When it comes to his favorite courses, Isaac says that he really enjoys Game Design and Intro to Engineering & Tech. “I enjoy thinking about problems and things in the world from a very technical point of view,” he said.
In January 2020, Isaac was awarded the STAR Student of the Month in recognition of his great attitude and achievements in the classroom.
Isaac’s parents say that Connections Academy’s wide variety of coursework has allowed their student to be exposed to a lot of new subjects and to figure out what he is truly passionate about. Outside school, this STAR PNWCA student enjoys cooking, playing video games, playing piano, and being part of a youth group at his church.
