Educator Spotlight: Tracey McGee-Moreira
Mrs. McGee-Moreira is the school leader at Virginia Connections Academy. Before joining our online community, she taught and served as a principal at brick-and-mortar schools. Fun fact: She lives on a farm in the woods with four dogs.
Mrs. McGee-Moreira combines her passion for education with a deep commitment to meeting the needs of every student on a one-to-one basis to help them succeed. She started her career teaching special education, eventually became a principal, and is delighted to meet and communicate with our families.
Mrs. McGee-Moreira’s message to parents and caregivers is: “Engage with faculty and staff … those of you who communicate often will find great success. … The teachers here are focused on student success, collaboration, and communication. … You are not in this alone. We are here for you. … Everyone here is just a phone call, a text message, or a Webmail away.”
In her free time, Mrs. McGee-Moreira loves walking and playing with her dogs. She also loves gardening and enjoys oil painting, especially outdoor scenes.

Can my student transfer to Connections Academy mid-year?
Absolutely! While we always recommend that students transfer at the beginning of the semester to have the smoothest transition possible, we also accept students a few weeks into both the fall and spring semester (if capacity allows).
