Carole Zullo’s sons are students at Texas Connections Academy @ Houston (TCAH). She appreciates the high-quality curriculum, scheduling flexibility, and one-on-one instruction at TCAH. The family lives in Richmond, Texas. Carole shares more of her story below.
“When our local brick-and-mortar school was no longer a good fit for our family, we began to look for an alternative. A friend mentioned that Texas Connections Academy @ Houston had a wonderful program, and she thought it would fit our family’s needs. So I visited the web site. One look at TCAH’s curriculum, no-cost tuition, and all the electives and clubs it offered, and we immediately enrolled.
My children have been given opportunities at TCAH that they wouldn’t have had at most other schools. TCAH has a true Gifted and Talented program that is very challenging. All three of my sons are working above grade level in mathematics and are thriving, thanks to the top-notch teachers. Our oldest child was recently accepted into the National Junior Honor Society, which our brick-and-mortar school doesn’t even offer.
My children also attended a small-group-setting literature program with in-depth and thought-provoking discussions on short stories. They weren’t required to attend; however, I thought it would be valuable for them to take advantage of all the LiveLesson
® sessions. The LiveLesson sessions helped them learn to speak publicly without fear and also helped them prepare for upcoming tests in each subject.
As a whole, our family is happier, thanks to TCAH. We are no longer waking before the sun is up, feeling tired and anxious, and rushing to beat the school bell. The flexible schedule has made a huge difference in my kids’ behavior. It allows my preteen to sleep in as he chooses, while I work with my youngest in the early mornings when he is alert and friendly. The one-on-one instruction and self-pacing negates the need for homework. TCAH freed up time for the kids to play outside, take field trips, and enjoy life as a family. I’m thankful each and every day that my children have the opportunity to attend TCAH.
What I like best about TCAH is the high-quality education my boys are receiving. The curriculum is challenging and engaging. The teachers are very knowledgeable and always willing to help. I love that the teachers at TCAH take the time with each student to make sure he or she understands the curriculum and is able to successfully apply the knowledge.”
