In the U.S., about 20 percent of students ages 12 to 18 experience bullying, and 15 percent reported being bullied online or via text message, according to StopBullying.gov, a website managed by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Since everyone is different—and every situation will have its nuances—personality type plays a big role in how someone responds to bullying. While there are no easy answers to preventing or stopping bullying, it can be helpful for students to be aware of their own needs and the needs of others.
