From arts and crafts to pumpkin picking and football games, there’s something for kids of all ages. We’ve found some simple and fun fall activities for kids by age group so that you can find the best activities to celebrate the season with your student.

Fall Activities for Kindergarten Students
- Handprint Leaves
Making handprint leaves is fun and easy for little ones. All you need is paint, paper, a paintbrush, and some tiny hands, of course! Have your little one paint their hand in a variety of fall hues to create a beautiful handprint. You can help them draw in the leaf veins once everything dries.
- Nature Crafts
No need to go to the craft store to get supplies because Mother Nature has plenty to provide! The fall season lends itself to different nature crafts using leaves, rocks, and acorns. Let your student draw trees using real leaves, or paint fall scenes on rocks they find outdoors. They can also make natural suncatchers using flower petals, flat seeds, and more.

Apple stamping is one of the easiest fun fall activities for kids. You just need a few apples, paint, a marker, and some paper to create some cute Halloween pumpkin art.
Fall Activities for Elementary School Students
- Go Pumpkin Picking
When you’re looking for fall-themed activities, pumpkin picking is right at the top of the list. You can even turn this into a game by asking your child to guess the weight of the pumpkin before you put it on the scale.
- Get Lost in a Corn Maze
Getting lost in a corn maze can be fun for those in grades 3-5 and for adults too! Many communities have seasonal corn mazes this time of year. Let your student test their navigation skills during this fun fall activity.
- Make Acorn People

- Set Up a Fall-Themed Scavenger Hunt
Older children will enjoy searching for fall-themed items such as pine cones, acorns, leaves, and more. Here are some free printable lists that include items to search for, such as red leaves, furry items, and birds. You can always create your own list by looking at what’s in your surroundings.

Pumpkin carving can be one of the best fall activities for kids because it allows them to express their creativity. Invite friends over for a pumpkin carving party. Even if your student is not the best carver, kids can still add color and flair to their jack-o-lanterns with paint or markers.
