Shea Heller is the manager of counseling Services at South Carolina Connections Academy (SCCA). She joined SCCA for the 2011–12 school year. Ms. Heller was excited to join the new frontier of virtual education with a school that embraced innovation, and promoted student critical thinking and lifelong learning. She chose this profession because she believes school counselors impact student success, and wanted to encourage students to reach their highest potential. Ms. Heller believes in the importance of school choice for families because every student deserves the chance to find a school that addresses individual student needs and provides an engaging education. She feels that online education is a wonderful opportunity for students to achieve academic success, and to reach their educational, career, and personal goals.
Ms. Heller loves working for a school that lives by the belief that all students can learn. SCCA counselors and teachers value and cultivate relationships among all stakeholders by working collaboratively to ensure all students are learning. SCCA’s mission is to provide a personalized education for students that will help them master the knowledge and problem solving skills needed to achieve their college and career goals.
