Yes! There are online schools in Florida that are available to families living in any of the state’s 67 counties. Students in grades K–12 can enroll in a Florida online school and learn from home, connecting to a safe online learning environment using the internet.

Students enrolled in a Florida online school (also known as virtual school) must meet the same Florida graduation requirements as students who attend brick-and-mortar public schools. They’re also required to take standardized testing. High school students attending online school in Florida must earn 24 credits to graduate, and they work with licensed school counselors to include required courses.

An outstanding Florida online school is available, authorized by Hillsborough County Public Schools. Florida Connections Academy is open to students statewide and currently serves grades K–10. The school will expand to offer eleventh grade in the 2021-22 school year, then add twelfth grade in 2022-23.
